After a surf session, riding the waves and soaking up the sun, I'm left feeling stoked but I literally feel like a dried out mermaid with really dehydrated skin. So here are my top 10 favourite picks I would use for face, body and lip care. All the products are from The Body Shop® specifically for dry skin, and what makes these selections special is that they are vegan and cruelty-free (according to The Body Shop® product description).
For the morning skin care routine:
Shea Body Butter (most loved):
After a good shower, I would start off with full body shea butter - a rich body butter infused with shea butter to deeply moisturize and nourish dry skin.
Almond Milk Body Butter: Alternatively, I also like to use Almond Milk Body Butter formulated with cocoa butter, almond milk & oil soothes and restores dry, sensitive skin.
Drops of Youth™ Bouncy Jelly Mist: For the face start of with the Bouncy Jelly Mist - this helps to protect your skin from pollution and maintain its youthful resilience. Perfect for applying before or after makeup as well, if you are someone that like's to use a lot of make up.
Vitamin C Glow-Boosting Moisturizer: I generally would use a Vitamin C moistrizer in the morning. Give dull and tired skin a little shine. Leaving my skin fresh and ready to start my day. Not only is Vitamin C a potent antioxidant, but it can also help back up the protective effects of sunscreen. When used in the morning, before applying your SPF, it helps guard against UV rays that may slip past that first layer of defense.
Then after apply a heavy-duty facial moisturizer enriched with hemp seed oil to provide intense hydration for dry and sensitive skin to trap in all the moisture, keep your skin fresh and hydrated through out the day.
Avocado Lip Care Stick: And through out the day, apply the Avocado Lip Care Stick as much as you want. To hydrate your lips in a single swipe with their new moisture-rich Avocado lip balm all day long.
For the evening routine:
During the shower I would use a nourishing Coconut Body Scrub at least once a week (depends how motivated I am) infused with coconut oil to exfoliate and moisturize dry skin, leaving it smooth and refreshed.
Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter (most loved): Then I would brush my teeth, wash my face and start with a gentle cleansing butter enriched with camomile extract to remove any dirt or make up from the day and impurities without drying out the skin.
British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask:
And sometimes when my skin has been exposed to pollution or all the dirt from driving around with the bike all day, feels nice to once a week use refreshing gel mask infused with real rose petals and rose essence to hydrate and plump dry skin, revealing a healthy glow.
Vitamin E Intense Moisture Cream:
End the night with a lush moisturizer infused with vitamin E to replenish and hydrate dry skin, leaving it soft and smooth.
I have always admired The Body Shop®, as they are a strong advocate against animal testing in the beauty industry. They have long-standing policies and campaigns aimed at promoting cruelty-free practices and advocating for the global ban on animal testing, as they firmly believe that beauty should not come at the cost of animal suffering. The Body Shop® actively supports alternative testing methods and works towards creating a world where no cosmetics are tested on animals.
I hope you will find some of these products helpful. Product availability may vary depending on your location and The Body Shop®'s current offerings.
